Studying abroad is one of the best decisions you can make while you are achieving a post-secondary education. It is a big commitment to leave the country for an extended period of time, but it is a decision that you will never regret.

Going overseas to study is something that I have always wanted to do, but I always though I was too busy, or didn’t have enough money. As a recent graduate, I can tell you that not studying abroad, for at least a semester, was my biggest regret of my 4-year undergraduate degree. I wish I had taken the time to do more research on the entire process; it is easy to get started.

The biggest factor that held me back was money – I didn’t think that I could save enough to go overseas for a year. Just because this is how I felt, does not mean that this was the reality. I didn’t spend the time to look through other financial options.

The amount of scholarships available to students is mind-blowing. There are awards for practically every interest or hobby you may have. One great thing about scholarships, which relates directly to studying abroad, is that the majority of institutions have scholarships that are just for international students. This means there is a whole pile of money that schools abroad put aside for international students, like yourselves. It is important to note that while you are looking for schools to study abroad, these schools are actively looking for you and giving out incentives for you to go to their school.

There are many great resources available to you as a student. Check out if you are not sure where you want to study, you can sign-up and start searching for schools and programs all around the world. If money is holding you back, head over to and search for scholarships, bursaries, grants, and even contests that will award you money for your studies. You can search by school, field of study, and much more!

It is easy to get started on your journey abroad. There is no better time to get up and go.
