Robert Gordon University (RGU) is a Scottish University situated on the idyllic banks of the River Dee in Aberdeen.  Aberdeen is on the edge of the Cairngorm National Park with historic castles and stone circles on our door step and easy access to the beautiful Scottish Highlands and Islands.  For the more active you can bag a Munro, go skiing or surfing in our fantastic countryside or use the excellent sports facilities provided by RGU Sport.

Our focus is democratising education, so that communities in Scotland and across the globe can benefit from world-class graduates that are real-world ready. Our commitment to innovative research also ensures we pursue cutting-edge solutions to problems the world is actually facing today.

Ranked 1st in Scotland for Health professions, our school of Health Sciences has a proven track record of producing work-ready graduates as evidenced by our excellent employment rates – we are ranked 1st in Scotland and 3rd in the UK for graduates in employment or further study six months after graduation (The Guardian University League Tables 2018, published May 2017).

The School of Health Sciences focuses on an innovative approach to education, thinking about how the professions need to evolve to address the health and wellbeing of populations in the future.  Working with industry, we introduce innovative courses to drive the professions forward. Our Doctorate of Physiotherapy, MSc Exercise Health and Wellness Coaching and Master of Occupational Therapy are examples of this creativity, these courses being firsts of their kind in the UK.

This same creativity is employed to help our students learn.  Integrating theory with practice from the early stages of our courses is fundamental to our students’ success.  We embed simulated learning using realistic work environments and volunteer patients to allow students to develop their skills in a safe and supportive environment before they consolidate their skills during placements.  We don’t focus on examinations but on assessment methods that help you develop the skills you need for the real working environment.  Our focus? Preparing our graduates for the rapidly changing work environment: Consequently you will be Prepared for the Present but Fit for the Future!

With purpose-built facilities including a human performance lab, functional capacity lab,  Physiotherapy practical rooms, ward setting, intensive care room, gym, RGU SPORT, Occupational Health Home Setting and strong links with industry and practice we have all the ingredients to help you be successful in your studies.

Through our graduates and partnerships, we believe we can make tomorrow brighter than today.
