As a Canadian student, here are some scholarships you could be eligible for at ETSU.
1. International Merit Scholarships
Our International Merit Scholarships are available to Canadians who are applying for a new degree at ETSU. The best part about this scholarship is you’ll automatically be considered for the award and you won’t need to write a separate application.

Gold Scholarship | $7,000/year | >3.5 GPA |
Elite Scholarship | $9,000/year | >3.75 GPA |
To be eligible for the International Merit Scholarships, you must:
- Be admitted to ETSU as a degree-seeking student
- Have, or plan to have, a visa that allows for a full-time course of study
- Have earned a 3.0 GPA or higher in high school

2. Creative Arts Scholarships
Creative Arts Scholarships are available to all majors, including undergraduate and graduate students. Scholarship recipients only pay in-state tuition, making this scholarship equivalent to approximately $20,000 per year.
So, if you’ve got a passion for the creative arts and want to participate in activities and performances at university, then this scholarship could be for you.
To be eligible for the Creative Arts Scholarships, you must:
- Be a new first-time ETSU student
- Live on campus and purchase a meal plan for your freshmen year
- Participate in creative arts activities or performances that have a university or community audience

3. STEM Community Outreach Scholarship
The STEM Community Outreach Scholarship (pdf) is available to new, undergraduate students majoring in Computing, Geosciences, Mathematics, and Physics. Scholarship recipients only pay in-state tuition, making this award equivalent to approximately $20,000 per year!
To be eligible for the STEM Community Outreach Scholarships, you must:
- Be a new first-time ETSU student
- Live on campus and purchase a meal plan for your freshmen year
- Participate in STEM community outreach activities
- Computing students will work in support of the Providing Area Schools with Technical Assistance program. The program provides refurbished computers to local public K-12 schools, including installation, user training, and other support activities.
- Geosciences students will participate in public outreach at the ETSU Museum of Natural History and Gray Fossil Site, local schools, Gem and Mineral shows, science exhibitions, and/or other venues. Their activities will include setting up display items including rocks, minerals, fossils, drones, models, and microscopes; conducting and assisting with demonstrations; and speaking to the attendees on topics in Geosciences.
- Mathematics students will assist ETSU mathematics instructors in lower level mathematics courses and/or participate in public outreach at local schools.
- Physics students will participate in public outreach at the ETSU Astronomical Observatory, the ETSU Planetarium, local schools, and/or other venues. Their activities will include setting up telescopes, conducting demonstrations, assisting with science fairs, Science Olympiad, Scouting, and other public outreach events, and giving presentations on topics in Physics and Astronomy.
