ULACIT - THE LATIN AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
The Latin American University of Science and Technology (ULACIT) is a private non-profit institution, with a campus in downtown San José, Costa Rica. It is officially recognized by the Costa Rican government, and listed in the World Higher Education Database of 2002.
Our university currently has a population of nearly 3,500 students and is organized into four schools: Business and Accounting, Engineering, Social Sciences, and Health Sciences. ULACIT awards Associate, Bachelor’s, and Master’s Degrees in Law and Dentistry, Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, and Education.
All academic programs include a strong emphasis on English as a Foreign Language, and that is why ULACIT is known as the only bilingual university in the country. It is an advantage that some of our business and liberal arts courses are taught in English every term of the year, so international students can take courses in English, earn credits, and share classes with Costa Rican students for a greater cultural exposure.
The Global Education Office at ULACIT offers the Academic Cultural Exchange (ACE) Program, a study-abroad program which encompasses Spanish language courses and electives in various disciplines with concentrations on Latin American Business, Literature, and Environmental Sciences. Programs take place during the spring, summer, fall, or winter semesters but customized programs on different dates can be arranged.
